Herve Francois has joined ING in 2011. He is currently Blockchain Initiative Lead at ING Netherlands and has over 15 years of work experience in Financial Market environment (ranging from quantitative analyst, structuring team, trading to innovation) within 5 different countries (USA, France, Hong Kong, Japan and Netherlands). Herve is working on different innovation projects related to Blockchain / Distributed Ledger Technology.
ING Blockchain program has delivered over 44 proofs of concept in collaboration with the following business areas: payments, trade finance and working capital solutions, financial markets, post-trade, bank treasury, lending, compliance and identity.
Entrepreneur minded and business oriented, Herve is responsible to bring proof of concept into production, capitalizing on technology potential in order to unlock mass-scale value. A good example is HQLAx project, a new collateral exchange to manage liquidity more effectively and more cost efficiently, which aims at being in production this year. HQLAx is developed n R3’s Corda platform together with 5 other banks.”
Herve is an active leader in global consortia and regulatory working groups, envisioning market impact of blockchain/DLT.
He is also a mentor at Startupbootcamp and Kickstart accelerator and a regular speaker at diverse Blockchain Conferences.
